"In the Argonne, after all uninterrupted bombardment lasting for three days, the Germans attacked the French positions between the Binarville Road and Four de Paris. At the third attempt the enemy set- foot 011 some sections of tho French lines towards Bagatelle, but were driven out after a violent combat." FRENCH OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright ,A communique states: "Therebas been a violent cannonade l"an/^omeoinfantry engagements north of Arras. "We slightly progressed north of *Carleulchatea, and repulsed Gorman attacks at Cabaret-Rouge,; east of Metzeral, in the Vosges." *This name has obviously been mangled in transit.
