A young Englishman named Clarke, ■who died in hospital in Paris,is stated to have lived with a Germnn in Vienna before the war. The German died, and Clarke appropriated his papers, adopted his identity, went to Berlin, arid enrolled in la corps of ten thousand, which was'known as the "Forlorn Hope" Brigade, who were'to.he trained as aviators in order to partake in an air raid oil London at the end of July,. After his first lessons he escaped with the object of telling the Britisn. He went to Paris through Holland, but- died before he accomplished 1 his mission. A friend carried out his wishes.
