MUNICIPAL FISH MARKET

$ ' REORGANISATION DESIRED. _ The Municipal Pish Market, established on Jervois Quay, has not proved to be as satisfactory a business as was hoped, for various reasons. At yesterday's meeting of the Public HealthCommittee of the City Council the markot formed a topic for dobate, and as the result a report will be presented to the council next Thursday indicating that this branch of municipal trading requires reorganising on lines different to those now followed. At present the market is not a paying concern, and it' is said that unless some change of policy is adopted the chances aro against a credit being shown in the future. It is considered that the site on Jervois Quay, whilst suitable for pteparing the fish for market, is not suitable as" - a shop owing to it being situated well away from a considerable stream of public traffic.
