Tho monthly meeting of the New Zea--land Alliance was held last night. A strong protest was raised e.gainst the action cf the Licensing Committees in the Grey and Westland electorates, whore the Magistrate and Chairman of tho Committees declared, concerning the granting of certain licenses, that the spirit and intention of the Act was being violated and that if it, were possible for him to resign his position on the Committee he would do it. The drink lull for 1014, as calculated by Mr. A. y. Adams, was received.
