At the Magistrate's Court, a man named Gerald Joseph Holt did not appear to answer his wife's plaini for separation, maintenance, and custody of "the children. Mr. Kettle, S.M., granted an order for separation and. for 255. u week maintenance, and giving the wife the custody of the children. He added that under Section 62 of the Destitute Persons Act Holt would be sentenced to six months' hard labour.
