SIX MONTHS IMPRISONMENT
FOR NEGLECTING A WIFE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, June 25. At the Magistrate's Court, a man named Gerald Joseph Holt did not appear to answer his wife's plaini for separation, maintenance, and custody of "the children. The wife stated that lier husband had given her only. ten shillings since Christmas. He was, she said, standing outside the court when she entered. Mr. Kettle, S.M., granted an order for separation and. for 255. u week maintenance, and giving the wife the custody of the children. He added that under Section 62 of the Destitute Persons Act Holt would be sentenced to six months' hard labour.
