ARBITRATION COURT
BBI.CKLAVEBS' AWARD. The award of fclie Court of Arbitration in tlie Weliiiifrton bricklayers' dispute lias been filed with the Clerk ol Awards (Mr. G. S. Clark). The award comes into force on July 12 next, and' remains in force until July, 1918. It provides for a week of 44 hours, with wages at tlie rate of Is. 7jd. per hour. The Wellington Harbour Board is granted exemption from the provisions other than wages and overtims. In a memorandum attached to tho award, tlie Court said: "Tho only substantial question referred to the Court in this dispute was as to tho minimum rate of 'wages. This lias been fixed at Is. 7Jd. per hour, which the Court thinks is fair and ronsonable, having regard to the intermittent nature of the work, and the frequent periods of lost time resulting therefrom."
