ESTIMATES FOll CURRENT YEAR. At last night's meeting of the City Council, tho Power Station and Tramways Committee placed before the council estimates of net revenue and capital expenditure in the Electric Lighting Department for the year ending March 31, 1916. Tho figures were as follow:— Net revenue: Bank balance at March 31, 1915, £10,700; estimated net surplus for year, 1915-10, £15,000; depreciation fund for year, 1915-16, £7950; total, £33,650. Capital expenditure: Extensions to mains, meters, and transformers, etc.. for year 1915-16, £6000. Estimated credit balance at iMarch 31, 1916, £27,650. 're
The annual "smoke" concert of the Post and Telegraph Stores Cricket Club was held last ovening, Mr. C. B. Mann presiding. During tho evening the following prizes were presented:— D. Cameron, for batting, and third bowling average, and highest score; H. A. Johnston, second baiting and second bowling averages; F. Marshall, third batting and first bowling avorages; W. Young, batting average; B. Benson, second and J. Carr third; W. Brownlee, wicket-keeping; J. Looney, best attendance at practices; H. Kelly, most number of oatches, and L. D. Botirke, most improved junior player. The following toasts wero honoured: "Post and Telegraph Stores Department," proposed by Mr, T. Outes, and responded to by Messrs. C. 13. Mann, 0. H. Nicholls", and J. B. Jordon; "Post and Telegraph Stores Cricket Club," Mr. J. M'Ardle, responded to by Messrs. F. Sutherland and H. Johnston; "The Ladies," Colonel Porter. Messrs. J. M'Ardle, S. Heal, S. llarland, C. Clarltson, and J. M'Ardle, rendered items. Mr. K. Sutherland, secretary and treasurer, was presented with a silver-mounted umbrella and ra/.or strop, in recognition of sorvices lie has rendered the club.
