OPENING DAYS FEW MEMBERS HERE YET Only .about half a dozen members of | Parliament, representing districts outside of Wellington, have as yet arrived here, and the air of solitude about tho Parliamentary Buildings is quite unusual for t'lie near approach of the session. A considerable number of members aro expectcd to arrivo to-day, and the next batch will put an appearance in oil Thursday morning in readiness for the opening ceremony that nfternoon. A caucus of tho Opposition Party will be held to-day when tlie attitude to be adopted by the party in regard to tlio .work of the session will be discussed. A meeting of the Government Party will also probably bo held in a few days. Very little more than formal business ..will be transacted by Parliament this week. The Imprest Supply Bill will bo passed on Friday or on Tuesday next. The swearing-in of members and the election of a Speaker will be tho only business done in the Houso on Thursday. The'references to the death of the lato Hon. E. C. J. Stevens, M.L.C., and to the death of several ex-members of, the Legislature may bo expected to take place on Friday, 'fho ex-members who have passed away since last sossion include the Tlons. W. Montgomery and F. Arkwright, exM.L.C.'s, and Messrs. J. Bollard, F. •Y. Lethbridge, and Felix M'Onirc, exVl.P.'s.
