NEW ZEALANDERS WITH THE BRITISH ARMY

The "British Australasian" of May 6 gives the following'news of New Zealanders vho have joined the Forces in Great Britain: — Mr. Percy Roy Paul is in the 62nd King's Royal Rifle Corps, at present at Sheeniess. Mr. 'I'. Handyside is in the 4th Royal Dublin Fusiliers, now stationed at Sittingbourne. Mr. J. J. Page holds a commission in the Royal Field Artillery, and is stationed at Bordon, in Hampshire. Mr. W. G. Callendar, who has a commission in the 52nd Worcestershire Regiment,, is at Looe, in Cornwall. Dr. J. Bruco Baird, of Invercargill, has received a commission in tho R.A.M.C. Mr. F. C. Bickend, has joined the 153 rd (Empire) Bngado. R.F.A. Mr. Stuart Reid, who has been promoted a sergeant in the Scottish Horse, a cavalry regiment raised by Lord Tullibardine, is an artist of Dunedin. Mr. A. E. Belcher, who has been appointed to the 9th Service Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, was headmaster of Christ's College, Christchurch. Lieutenant Wilmot Ching, who is at the front with the Royal Field Artillery, is an Auckland bov, and a son of the late Mr. Thomas Ching, of Remuera. Lieutenant T. Harold Pettit, of Nelson. is in the R.A.M.C. attached to the 3rd Yorks and Lanes Regiment, and is now medical Yofficer at the 19th General Hospital of the British Expeditionary Force. Surgeon-Lieutenant A. M'Cutcheon, son of Mr. William M'Cutcheon, formerly of Auckland, who is at the front, has been the representative of several New Zealand firms in England, during the past few years. * The membership of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association is steadily rising, and .now totals 648. Tho annual report incidentally regrets that the committee have to call some members' attention to the fact that the subscriptions outstanding total over £200, whilst sundry special prizes and other debts total £180. Tho committee trust that all members will pay thoir last year's subscriptions promptly. The British Imperial authorities have (says the "Cape Times") contracted to take over 4000 tons of lucerne, as a tost, from South Africa.
