Blundell Bros.'' cheque for ,£IOOO towards the Wounded Soldiers' and Snilors' Fund was paid in yesterday. It will be remembered that Blundell Bros, promised to contribute -that suin provisionally on ten others donating ,£SOO each to tho fund in tlio Wellington district. Talcing in the Wairarapa. this has been dona over and over again. In addition to the enormous sum paid into the fund from tho .Wairarapa district, Messrs. E. and D. Riddiford gave £500 each, Mr. Sydney, Johnaton gave *£500; tho Bank of New Zealand *£1000, Mr. Geo. Shirtcliffe JESOO, J.
