CONFLICTING REPORTS. By Tol/sgrapi.—Press Association. Wanganul, Juno 21, 'A reply that has been received here hj Lieut,-Colonel Hughes in answer to inquiries cabled to Cairo does not bear out. the reports received by the Governor ond the Hon. James \llea. Tbo cablegram states:—"No funds available for woundod at Cairo, and financial assistanco urgently wanted." Sinr.iar intimation had previously been received hero from Captain-Chaplain Blamires, on receipt of which £100 was cabled.
