CITY THEFTS
The residence of Mr. Alfred Percy King, in Bnxigbam Street, was broken into on Friday night, and money and jewellery stolen. The burglary was discovered by Mrs. King, who had left the houso at 7.30 p.m., and oil returning at 10 p.m. found that some person had effected an entrance to the house through the,back door,.and had ranBacked several dra.vors in. the house. . Jewels and trinkets wero stolen from drawers in a dressing table, 30s. in cash from another box in the same room, while Mr. Walter King's bedroom had been visited and -the panel of a locked drawer in the . room smashed, and something over £21 stolen from it. An hotel robbery was reported to the police on Saturday by Mr. 6. Duncalf, traveller for Messrs. J. B. Clnrkson and Co., who stftted that during Fri'day night, while he was asleep in his bedroom at the Hotel Windsor, a pocketbook containing four cheques and £6 in notes was stolei from the pocket of his coat, and 30s. in silver from a trousers pocket. The four cheques are each for £10 IGa. Bd.
