SEVERE ENGAGEMENT IN WEST FLANDERS

BATTLE IMMINENT - (Rec. June 18, 1.25 a.m.) . Rotterdam, Juno 17. There was a severe engagement after a heavy artillery action on the Essen, Dixmude, and Ramscapelle and Diexport front, where fresh German corps are still arriving; also southward of Ypres. An- Allies' airman dropped a bomb, warning the 'civilians in Ostend that heavy lighting was imminent. A great number of Germans wounded in the vicinity of Dixmude have been conveyed to Bruges.
