Tickets for tlio Royal. Sevres, China raffle for the benefit of the Wounded .Soldiers' and Sailors' Fund continue to be sold in la'rgc numbers. On one day alone fifteen pounds were received for sales of tickets at the stand on Lambton Quay corner, in front of Stcfrart Dawson's, and the proceeds on the following day were not very far behind. Possibly the public, that portion of it that buys, ana also that part of it that gives a chilly stare and passes 011, does not- altogether realise the enthusiasm that keys women and girls to the pitch of standing day after day at oue corner of. the street, wet or fine, in the hope of inducing people to buy for the good of the cause. Nothing else but* that, it might be mentioned, would induce them to the task, but just because it is for .what it is, be'Ciiuso they realise what the men of New Zealand are facing for those they have left behind them. they are doing "their little bit" to their utmost capacity, perhaps much more than are some of those whose remarks prove their sad ' lack of comprehension of the groat need ,of the time and tlio way in which it has to be mot in order that all classes may be touched. "SYDAL" (Wilton's Hand Emollient). Shaving 19 not always a pleasant operation, but if you uso a small quanity of "SYDAL" before and after using the razor you will be surprised at the result. —Advt,
