RUGBY UNION PROTEST AGAINST LEAGUE METHODS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Greymouth, June 16. A largely-dttended public meeting was held iu the Town llall under the auspices of tlio Rugby Uuioii yesterday evening, to protest against the action and methods <if tho Lcaguo authorities ill attempting to introduce the League code oil the West Coast at a crisis when a great majority of the Rugby Union's best players are absent at the front. After severe criticism of the methods employed, and tlio reply thereto, the meeting, by an overwhelming majority, expressed confidence iu Rugby Union football as at present conducted here. Tho following is the draw of senior Rugby matches iu Wellington for June' 26-.—Trentham A and Wellington, at Trentham; Poneke and Trentham C, at Athletic Park; Oriental and Petone, at Athletic Park; Sclwyn and Trentham B. at Kelburn Park; Athletic and University, at Miramar.
