A soldier has sent samples of letters thrown by German soldiers into the British trenches, addressed "Deal Comrades," "Dear French and English," and "'Comrades." The letters declare: "We are all tired of this savage life I It is time to end it; wo wish to get home to our dear wives and children." Another says: "It is about time we stopped all this. We think .you will soon have had enough of your war. Our losses are great; yours must be thrice as big. Let us have peace on earth before the cherry blooms; but t'ho sooner the better. Or do you want to go on for ever, sitting in these dashed trenches?" Tourists and travellers are . specially catered for at the Carlton Hotel, Willis Sh'eet. An announcement to this effect appears elsewhere in this issue. Particulars of a valuable station property of 18,700 acres for sale are advertised in this issue by Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Napier. . Mr. Victor E. Smith, Box 59, Feilding, announces that ho has a good grazing farm property for sale. Small farms on the Manawatu line nro advertised for sale by Messrs. Barton ana Co., Otaki.
