MORE MEN PROPOSAL
DISCOURAGED BY THE HOME GOVERNMENT. His Excellency the Governor has received a communication from tho Secretary of State for the Colonies, stating that while His Majesty's Government fully appreciates the desire of tho people of Now Zealand to provide all the assistance in their power, they aro of opinion that at tho present, juncture, as no arms and equipment eaii be sent ro New Zealand from the United Kingdom at the present time, it would not be desirable to depart from the curriculum of training and numbers arranged between them and the New Zealand Government for the' New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
