MASTERTON A. & P. SOCIETY MEETING OF THE GENERAL COMMITTEE.

The _ monthly meeting of the General •Committee of tlio Masterton A. and P. Association was held in tlio A. and P. Rooms 011 Saturday last. There were •ftresent: Messrs. 0. C. Coopor (president), H. Dagg, J. T. Dagg, W. I'erry, ,AV. H. Bnick, D. M'Master, J. H. James, J. 0. M'Killop, E. C. Allen, AV. Cooper, G.'H Shaw, A. J. Porcy, G. H. I'erry, H. Evans, J. Morris, J. Strang, D. M'Gregor, R-. Cray, E. Harper, C. A. Cameron, D. Caselberg, C. I\ Vallance, and H. Morrison. Mrs. D. M'Master, of Matawhero, forwarded a cheque for £1, return of tho amount paid by the association for the use of a. paddock. It was decided to nominate Mr. Qi'.enf in, Donald for a seat on the Council of the New Zealand Clydesdale Horse Society. The roport of the Finance Committco was read. A comparison of this year's , outstanding donations and entry fees ■with those of last vear is as follows: — 3914 donations, £25 12s. 6d.; 1915, £2D Bs.; entry fee, 1914, £14 18s. 6d.; 1915, £18 17s. 6d. Tho treasurer reported receipts for tho month amounting to £Sl lis. 3d., and expenditure £9(3 10s. lOd. The receipts for tho year had amounted to '£3028 10s. Tho Ground Committee's report was adopted. The caretaker reported on tho work done during tho month. Tho committee recommended, on the advice of the judges of the swede comnetitiens, that these competitions be abandoned. The light horse stewards approved of tlio principle laid down in tlio suggestion of Mr. J. Vf. Johnston, of Palmerston North, regarding the subsidising of A. and P. Associations, but, owing to ( the financial stress in consequence of the European war, deemed it advisable that the presentation of the proposal to the Government ho doferred for the time being. The report of the Judges' Selection Committee was adopted, together with the reports of tlie Agricultural Committee, and the Schedule Revision Committee. Messrs. Q. Donald, J. C. M'Killop, and C. F. Vallance were appointed delegates to the Agricultural Conference.
