FRENCH CLUB
The French Club again. Had quite & ladies' evening at their meeting Oil Thursday night. ' After a piano solo had been played by Miss Pay Rayward, Mrs. Seville read an interesting extract from a French newspaper of recent date. This described Paris at the prej seint time, there being few signs _ot gaiety, but throughout the whole citi a recognition of the serious nature ol the struggle in which France is_ now engaged. Miss Forbes gave an interesting discourse, pourtraying French home life, and dealing with several Ith calities in Fraaco, where she herself had spent some time. She handed round some photographs to illustrate this part of her lecture. A short dis> cussion fallowed. At an earlier stage of the proceedings reference was mad«( to the death of a former member, Mr* V. Hall, who was killed at the Darda.; [ nelles.
