THE MIKADO'S CORONATION
♦ SYNOPSIS OF OFFICIAL PROGBAMME By further advices just received by Messrs. Burns, Philp, and Company, Ltd. (agents m Australasia of tho Nippon Yusen Kaisha), from Mr. M. Kobayashi, general traffic manager of the Nippon Yusen Kaisha at Tokio, it hns'been confirmed that the coronation of H.M. hito, Emperor of Japan, will take place i oTe , m J ler > Mr. Yobayashi states that the dates for the coronation were decided upon and officially Gazetted at Tokio on April 19. The ceremonies of accession will take place on November 10, and tho thanksgiving festivals (Daizosai) will be held on November H, 1915, The ceremony of reporting the coronation to the august ancestors of His Imperial Majesty will bo performed at the Eoyal Mausolea on November 19. The JSmperor and Empress will leave Tokio for the ancient city of Kyoto on November 7, an occasion which will be marked in fitting manner. Their Majesties will break the journey at Nagoya and arrive at Kyoto 'on November 9, where, on tho following day, the ceremonies will be begun. Various important, picturesque, and intensely interesting and ancient ceremonies attendant upon the coronation will be performed almost daily until November 24, and the Mikado and his Imperial spouse will leave Kyoto on November 25, and return to the capital on November 2G— again breaking the journey, in nccordanco with immemorial usage, at Nagoya.
