CARNIVAL COLLECTION-BOXES
SCHEME FOR ISSUE AND RETURN. A scheme for the issue and return of collection boxes was approved as under by the executive committee of the Patriotic vides:— (1) That all boxes be branded with the letters "N.Z.P.5.," and numbered with a metal disc from No. I upward. (2) That boxes of a definite sequence of numbers be issued to specified committees. (3) Tho issue of all boxes to be under the supervision of a person appointed by the exeoutive -who shall carry out the following methods: — (a) Keep exact record of tho numbers o'f all boxes issued and the names of the persons and committee to whom such are issued. (b) All committees and persons receiving boxes to be instructed to return same as regularly as possible to the person in charge of the issue of same, who shall give a receipt of the number of boxes returned upon each delivery. (c) That the secretary authorising the person to receive the boxes a,s thus provided take immediate steps to hand over same to the treasurer, who will give his receipt for the number of boxes so received, and after emptying return the boxes for reissue. (4) That all committees be instructed that each person receiving boxes on behalf of the committee must have % written authority for receipt of same, and that each committee be requested to keep a careful record of the names and addresses of persons to whom they supply a box or boxes, and advise the executive with respect to any delay in returning of these. It was further resolved that where any committee was carrying out the essentials of this scheme the Administrative Executive might allow their methods to operate.
