' (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright) _ _ ' Paris, .June 9. l ri_ ne Joffra's recommendation, the Cross of the Legion of Honour has been oonferred on Flight Sub-Lieuten-ant, Warnoford, who recently destroyed B Zejrpekn. YYARNEFORD TELLS HIS STORY. (Rcc. June 11, 0.40 a.m.) London, June 10. The two airmen who accompanied Lieut. Warneford left him in order to drop bombs on the airship shed at Evete. "Warneford continued his flight alone, and sighted a Zeppelin six thousand feet high. He got above it, and then dropped within 60 feet, and loosed his bombs. The sixth bomb struck the envelope fair and square in the middle, and _ instantly there was a terrific explosion. Describing the affair. Lieut. Warne- ] ford says:—"The displacement of air "M so great that it semed 'ike a tor- ' v machine was tossed upwards and then flung upside down. I was : forced to loop the loop, despite myself. I thought the end of everything had ' come. I was in a whirl, but I had the pleasure of seeing the Zeppelin falling ia a oloud of flame and smoke, Then by a miracle my aeroplane righted itIself, and came to the ground.
