SLOW TRAMS.
Sir,—lt is high time something were done in Wellington to speed up the tramcars. At present, with exception of the Jervois Quay route, they simply crawl. And there are far too man? stopping places, too. And also too long stoppages for letting off and taking on passengers. No one ever seems to be in a hurry to alight or get aboard. With half a dozen of these stopping places on a very short route, quite a long time consequently is taken over a journev that should be accomplished in a 6liprt space. It is sheer nonsense how some of the cars creep onward. I know that occasionally they do travel decently quicklv, but they should all of them Tvako iip a bit and follow the speed that the Jervois Quay cars can travel at where there are fewer stoppages (and quite enough for other routes as vrcn) .
