Mr. H. E. Duke, J1.0., M.P., by accepting the chairmanship of tlie Commission to settle claims for compensation under the Dp.fenco of the Realm Act, lias, according to tho "Daily Express," sacrificed an incomo of £2000 a year at ttie Bar.
