THE BACON INDUSTRY
COMPANY FORMING AT PAHIATUA. Our Pahiatua correspondent telegraphing last night roports:—A meeting of representatives of dairy companies and of shareholders of the Wellington Farmers' Bacon Company was held here this afternoon to discuss the formation of a new company to take over the business of the present bacon company, tho idea being for dairy companies to take up shares in the new concern on the basis of output similar to the company at Eltham. Mr. A. Eddie presided, and the meeting iv,is addressed by Mr. H. D. Forsyth, managing director of the South Taranaki Bacon Company, and by Mr. J. C. Cooper, managing director of tho "Wellington Farmers' Meat Company. ' It was resolved that a company be formed for the purposes of acquiring the oxisting bacon works at Waingawa, and that the existing committee, with the addition of three named, totalling nine, draw up a prospectus to present at the annual meetings of dairy companies, or sooner if desirablo.
