Official.—British gunboats operating on the Tigris have occupied Aniarah, taking prisoner thirty officers and seven hundred sailors. The total captures on the Tigris are eighty officers and two thousand men. The prisoners comprised the advance guard of the Turkish forces retreating from Persian territory before General Gorringe's column. AVe also captured six field guns, seven naval guns on board tlio gunboat- Marmariss, twelve steel barges, throe small river steamers, and much ammunition and rifles. Of the six Germans who were accompanying the Turks, three were captured, and the Arabs killed two.
