Cooper, S.M., pref- sided over a sitting of tho Magistrate's > Court yesterday. d Robert John Brellisford admitted that 0 he had been found without excuse in a s- timber yard in Farish Street, and also : j admitted being a rogue and a vagabond in this respect. Brellisford said that d ho had tried unsuccessfully to get work >- and also to enlist. The Magistrate ini. timated that if accused cleared out''of i- the town he would convict and order g him to come up for sentence when called 0 upou. This accused readily agreed to i- do. t William Wilkinson, a man in a sere geant's uniform, was again remanded to Juno 11' on a charge of forging and it uttering a medical certificate for a mail ternal allowance at Adelaide on Febru>f ary 16, 1912. An application from ace cused for a reduction in the original r- bail allowed him was refused, d A further remand to Juno 9 was i- granted in the case of Jeremiah Kirby, h charged with stealing a purse and contents, £1 155., from Leslie Gawler. y Thomas Albert Rafter, for whom Mr. i- H. F. O'Leary appeared was remanded j- to Juno Bon a charge of indecency. Ac- >- oused elected to be tried by jury. George Cotton was convicted and discharged for drunkenness and fined 405., i- in default seven days' imprisonment, i- for indecency in Boulcott Street, ii George Bert Vince and John Stewart y were each .fined 10s., in default three t days' gaol, for using threatening bed liaviour. Charles Randall Hargreaves, who was >- found drunk while in charge of a horse s and cab, was convicted and fined 405., :t in default seven days' gaol: > Eighteen first offending inebriates who had celebrated Carnival Day, wore treated in the usuil way. y BY-LAW BREACHES. For allowing tho chimney on his pre- ® misos in Aro Street to catch firo, James Kirk was fined 10s., with costs 7s. ' r For breaches of the City by-laws fines of 55., with costs 75., were imposed on tho following:—J. E. Fitzger- . aid, James Collins, and Eric Wallace. Daniel Flynn was fined 10s., with e m;ls 75., for keeping an unregistered 1 % failing to comply with a drainage cl notice Te llcuhcu Tukino was lined £1, with costs 12s.
