DEATH FOR AN INSULT. Paris, June 3. The "Echo do Paris" states that a German officer insulted and struck a Turkish officor on the quay at Smyrna. , Tho Turk drew his revolver and killed him thereupon German oflicers endeavoured to arrest the Turk. A veritable battle ensued with other Turkish oflicers, and soveral were killed or wounded. The Vali of Smyrna hurried to the scene, and had a narrow escape, as bullets wero flying in all directions.
