A TROOPER'S LETTER HOME. (To the Kditor.) Sir,—l have a son in the "Dardanelles; he wrote me from Egjpt saying ho was horrified in looking over the pictures of .the Christchurch "Press" (weeklv) to see the numbers of young men still attending the races, while the Empire was so urgently calling them to the ranks. He also said it would be bloody work iii Turkey, and the answer to it could only be, more men and still more men.
''Tell them, mother," he said, "to enlist now, lest they arrive too late." fie is since dangerously wounded, and although I have faithfully carried out bis request, privately, until I saw the correspondence in The Dominion it did not occur to me to write you. I am grateful for the opportunity.—l am, ctc., MOTHER.
