REPRISALS ON THE POISON FIENDS
FRENCH MEMORANDUM TO THE POWERS. (Reo. June 2, 10 p.m.) London, June 2. A French memorandum to the foreign Powers on the-. German use of gas quotes a German Headquarters' order for a new weapon, which would squirt inflammable liquid a distance of twenty metres (25 yards), causing mortal injury. The memorandum remarks: "No Government could refuse to allow its troops protection from such refinements of barbarity, and consequently France intends to use a fitting means to prevent' .the Germans committing further fflurders."
