4 Yesterday was 1 very successful day in the recruiting business. Sixty-five 2HOII were enrolled as willing to go on active service, and this brought the total of registrations in the City up to '4032. sirico -the outbreak of t'he war.
As the 4032 me 11 have been enrolled in a period of, ten months, we havo 'averaged 400 men per month, or a little over 100 per week.' As last week produced, 312 men, and 234 were secured in tho iveek be/oro that, it will be seen 'that recruiting has received a big stimulus of late.

Since the beginning of the war, ( tha Wellington military district has furnished all quotas asked for the Expeditionary Forces, also for. the two new Service Battalions, and has 700 men in excess of requirements for the 7th Reinforcements. The Hawera group has -been the best recruiting centre, with iWellington and Palmerston next in that order. The 7th Reinforcements go into camp at Trentham not earlier, than tJuno 14 or later thaii Juno 15.
