« IN THE WANGANUI RIVER. <0j Telegraph.—Press Atssocioilan.) Taumarunui, May 29. While crossing the Wanganui River this morning on their way to town from their market garden with a supply of vegetables, two Chinese were carried down the river, which was in flood. After floating for several hundred yards the trap was at last ovorturncd, and both occupants were thrown out. One managed to reach the shore, but the other was drowned. The horse was rescued after a good deal of difficulty, as it had got entangled in tho harness.
