ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
RAILWAY EMPLOYEE INJURED. A railway oniployco named Frederick Williamson was knocked down by a tram at Lambton Railway Station on Saturday evening, suffering injuries to his head. He was standing between two sets of lines wlien the accident happened, the train that struck him being one coming into the station. Williamson was removed to tho Hospital about 11.30 the same night. Tho injured man is married, and is thirt.vsovon years of age, and resides at 12 Karori Road. Mis injuries are not very serious. KNOCKED DOWN BY A TRAIN. A wharf labourer named Thos. Cannop, residing at 95 Ghuzuee Street, was knocked down by a tramcar on Lamb■ii Quay on Saturday. He w,as removed to the Hospital, where he ivas found to be badly cut about tho head, and suffering from shock. Last night he was reported from the Hospital to "jo doing as well as could bo expected. FOUND DROWNED. The body of a middle-aged man was discovered off the beach at Run Round, Island Bay, on Saturday afternoon. Tne body was brought to shore and taken to the morgue. Up to the presont tho body has not been identified. An inquest will be held at a later dato. A painful accident happened to Mr. H. Adams, whilst engaged in stumping operations at Mataraua on Thursday, says our Carterton correspondent, lie was jacking up a big stump, when the jack swerved and slipped, coming down on Mr. Adams's hand severely smashing the thumb. He was taken to Dr. Gunn, who dressed the wound, and hopes to save the wounded member.
