to comply with this request, and to offer this section for cash by public auction at an upset price of Resolution approved. Messrs. Porham, Larson, and Co., Ltd., applied for the freehold of part Seotion 31, Block V, ICarioi, 3 roods 10 perches, which they are at present leasing from year to year, and it was resolved to decline to consider the matter until the subdivision of the adjoining Crown land takes place.—Refused. J. if'Noill applied for a license to cut timber on Section 4, Block VII, Hautapu Survey District, and it was resolved to decline—Refused.
A report was received from the ranger making suggestions for the grouping of certain sections in the Horopito Village Settlement. It was resolved to adopt the four groups suggested and to reoffer them under Part 111 of the Land Act, 1908, at the price of .£5 per acre; sections comprising the groups to be withdrawn from sale as at present advertised. Rights of tramway to be reserved—Approved.
It was tesslTed to allow the former sublessees of Section lft, Block XII, Huangarua, 581 acres; Section 11. Block XVI, Huangarua S.D., 219 afefesj and Section 6, Block XII, Huangarua S.D., 5G£ acres., to, remain in occupation from February 1 last at the rental hitherto paid, until July 1, 1915, on which date possession will be resumed. With reference to Board's resolution of April 26, 1915, granting R .B. Coffey a license to occupy a strip of about 60 aores in To Tuhi Block for a term of five years, Mr. Coffey requested that the license be issued to Messrs. Bennett and Carrick, to whom he has Eold his land.— It was resolved to approve.
The Tiratu Sawmilling Co. applied for a permit to graze on Sections b and 4, Block VII, Makotuku S.D. It was resolved to allow them to graze on about 20 acres in S.E, oorner of Seotion 4, at a rent of J!5 per annum, and also to permit them to graze on other burnt patches, provided they grass thorn and keep down noxious weeds on the wholo area grazed. —Approved. It was resolved to approve of the amount received for improvements on Section 18, Blook V, Mangaweka North Township, viz., £5 being paid to the person entitled to receive it.—Approved. It was resolved to reoffer Section 11, Block V, Horopito West Township, 2 roods, on renewable lease at present rent, with value of improvements reduced from ifilO 10s. to .£3.—Approved. It was resolved to reoffer Section 6, Block VII, Whirinaki, area 498 acres 2 roods, under Part 111 of the Laud Act. 1908, at the original capital value of .£930, and to recommend offering subject to Section 127 of the Land Act, 1908, with exemption for four years.—Approved. Messrs. Laird Bros, applied for a few acres of Section 6, Block VII, 'Whirinaki, as a site for a homestead, and it was resolved to refuse.
J. P. Barber applied for Section 9, Block IX, Kaitieke S.D., as a site for a dwelling and homestead, and it wag resolved to decline his application.—Refused, The Reidale Cooperative Dairy Co., Ltd., applied for a license of Sections 89, 2 and 3, in M'Kenzie Village, area 2 acres 1 rood, and it was resolved to grant iit under Section ISO of the Land Act, 1908, for a term of five years, at « rent of ■ £2 ss. per annum, subject to the usual conditions, a proportionate reduction of rent to be made if possession of Seotion 89 or any other section is resumed at any time.—Granted.
It was rosolved to approve of tenders being invited for lease of Seotion 9, Block I, Hautau, 11 acres 3 Toods for a term of five years, under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, at an upsat rent of 7s. per annum, subject to the usual conditions—Approved.
It was resolved to approve of tenders being invited for a lease of Section 5, Block V, Omahine S.D,, 10 aores, for a term of five years, under the Publio Reserves. etc., Act, 1908, at an upset rent of J!3 15s. per annum, subject to the usual conditions.—Approved.

A memorandum was read from the Under-Secretary for Lands with reference to dealing with occupation or itransfer of holdings by settlers now serving with His Majesty's Expeditionary Forces, and it was resolved to acknowledge receipt and advise the Under-Secretary that the matter will be kept steadily in view.
Tho Under-Secretary for Lands submitted an opinion which had been given by the Crown Law Officers on the subject of accepting a surrender by a lessen of a lease issued by the late School Commissioners, and quoted the statutes dealing with the matter. It was resolyed to thank tho Under-Secretary for the information.
Messrs. A. B. Gibbons and F. W. Gemraell applied to have Seotion 1, Block 11, Owatua S.D. constituted a special district for roading purposes. It was resolved to recommend 'the formation of a special district over this land as regards money not already pledged for interest and other payments on special loan.
It was resolved to offer the .following lessees of Education Reserves renewals as under, in terms of Section 2 (5) of the Education R-eservea Amendment Act, 1910, at the rentals stated opposite each, as recommended by the Crown Lands Ranger: —Fanny Montgomery, Sections 9 and 14, Block VIII, Tiffin, 1091 acres; present rent, J250; proposed Tent, J;116 55.; James Ryman, Section 1608, Block IX, Kairanga, 97 acres, J!46; w£l7s 17s.—Approved. Tho District Engineer, Public Works Department, wrote withdrawing his application to surrender lease of Education Reserves, Seotions 15 and 16, Blook VII, Ponfaroa Township. It was resolved to rescind the board's resolution of March 26 last accepting the surrender.—Approved. H. B. Barnett, lessee of Section 10, Block XI, Rangataua. V.S., 8 acres 3 roods 29 poles, wrote stating he had enlisted in Expeditionary Force, and applied to left the section to Mr. John Pumphry during his absence.—Approved.
Mrs, M. A. E. Blackwell, whose residence on Section 16, Block IV, Hautapu, will fall due on Deoember 1 next, applied for permission to appointing Ernest Floyd as her substitute.—Approved, provided the necessary declaration and papers are sup plied.
