MASTERTON NOTES

At a patriotic gathering at Langdale on Thursday night the sale of a flag realised a sum of £520. The flag was ultimately bought by Mr. Rupert Morrison for £50, and presented to the Whareama school.

The Masterton Chess Oiub has accepted a challenge from tho Hamilton Club to a telegraphic match to be played on June 3.

Mr. Peter Olliver, of Fernridge, was thrown from his trap on Thursday evening and was dragged a considerable distance along the road He sustained scalp wounds and facial injuries which necessitated medical attention.
