TURKS DRIVEN BACK

Athenß, May 2§. Details of the fighting at Qaba Tepo on May 21 show that the Turks attacked at 3 o'clock in tie morning. They made desperate assaults in serried columns for twelve hours, when the Australians were ablo to signal "Holding easily." Then the Australians and New Zeolandara drove baok the enemy at tie point of the bayonet, pursuing them in the open and inflicting great slaughter.
Despite the loss of the two British' battleships, everyone is most oonfident, and this optimism is increased by the established fact that the TurccnGorrnan force is short of ammunition. Shrapnel loaded with pebbles, and shells with the inner casing of wood axe being used. This has been supplied by German contractors when the Kaiser- was fraternising with the late Sultan, Abdul Hamid. An exchange agency telegraphs from Athens that Djavid Pasha, in consequence of the decision of the Young Turks, has s;one to Berlin to announce that Turkey will conclude a separate peace.
