SEVERE BLOW TO AUSTRO-GERMAN STRATEGY
CONFIDENCE OF ITALIAN ARMY
ITALIANS FULLY PREPARED FOR THE
OFFENSIVE
London, May 27. The "Times" military correspondent Btates that tha Italian offensive, following quickly on the declaration of war,_ indicates that mobilisation was probably complete before diplomatic rotations were suspended. The march towards the Isonzo River is proof of the confidence of the army, which seeks an early and serious encounter with its hereditary enemy. Italy's entry into the field at this juncture is a severe blow to Austro-Ger-man strategy. The enemy was gambling on the great offensive iu Galicia, in the hope that a startling success would' cow Italy into passivity. It will be interesting to watch the effect of the Italian move in future Austro-Gerniau strategy—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
