The annual report (published yesterday) and the bafance-aneet were adopted. In. moving tie adoption of tlio report, the cuairman congratulated the officials of the N.Z.F.A. on the satisfactory position of the sport. With the present unsettled stato of the world it was not likely that any great progress would be mado during tho currant year, but the good work that had been done in sowing the game among tho schools left no doubt as to tho future outlook. Ha referred with pleasure to tho fact that the association had assisted tho force going to the front by presenting an ammunition wagon to tlie Defence authorities. A movement was on foot to compile a roll of honour, which would bear the names of all players who had gone on active service. The rules governing the Brown Shield competition wore considered and scvatiil alterations were made. It wns cosolved that one of the four matches played on a clialleugo should or.ly be a mid-wesk match if the holders so deaire, Tlia proportion of gato money ivusj
altered so that 5 per cent, of the gross takings should go to the council, the net gate then to be divided in the proportion of three-fifths to the challenging team and' two-fifths to the holders. August 1 was fixed as the latest date every year on which challenges shall be received, and the accompanying deposit was increased from 10s. to ±'1. The A.F.A. had already refused affiliation on tile ground that dual control in the one district could not be tolerated. The secretary, however, was directed to write to the Auckland Football Association to obtain fuller particulars as to.why the Y.M.C.A. desired to form a new league, and as to whether there was any trouble in boys' football last year.
