ATHLETIC SPORTS.
» , RUGBY
THIS AFTERNOON'S ATTRACTIONS. There is every prospect of a good attendance and a fine game when Athletic and Trentham A try conclusions at the Athletic Park this afternoon. Thus far the Athletic team has not lost a match, while the Camp team has one loss against it. This afternoon the soldiers will be reinforced, and the strongest team they have yet selected will take the field to endeavour to lower the colours of last year's champions. Such well-known'representative players (amongst others) as Dowing, E. Eobei-ts, Taylor, and Lynch should warrant there being few dull moments throughout the two spells. During the interval thirty ladies in football costume will demonstrate their ability at the Rugby game. Many of those taking part will be recognised as regular followers of the sport at the park each week. At Petone, Selwyn meet Trentham C, and at Hutt Poneka and University try conclusions.
