RACING IN ENGLAND
DERBY ABANDONED THIS YEAR. (Rec. May 28, 5.40 p.m.) London, May 27. The racing authorities at Epsom have decided that there shall be no Derby this .year. The Racecourse Association intend deputationising Mr. TV. Runcimann, President of the. Board of Trade, on the stoppage of racing, contending that it would interfere with horse breeding. The Irish Turf Club is continuing its meetings at present.—("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.)
