Mr. Reginald Day, who trained the Imperial stud of Germany for 6even years, says every horse-box is disinfected every time it is used, and during the last two years there had been no disease of any sort in any racing stable he knew. There were veterinary surgeons in every racecourse paddock in Germany, and if they heard a horse couch that horse was immediately ordered to leave tho paddock, and was isolated. It would not matter who the animal belonged to, or what race he was m. Mr. L. Hazlett's pair. Sister Radius and Palisade, returned to Dunedin on Tupsday, after an unsuccessful trip to Melbourne. Both horses are reported to be looking little the worse for their travelling. _and will probably sport silk at the Diinedin Jockey Club's Winter Meeting. In all probability Ronald Cameron will take out. a jockey's license to'^d" he is on a visit to his people in the Dominion. It has been definitely decided that Ladoga. is to go to Ellerslie to race, and he,will_ be sent North immediately. S Reid will ride him in his engagements. The Trentham jockey. -Ashler Reed, ■ who was seriously injured at the last Hastings Meeting, returned home yesterday. He is practically well again and •will be riding" work for J. W. Lowe in a day or two. The withdrawal of Commotion from his Northern Hurdles en"asement did riot come as a surprise. The Sensation gelding will probably race at Wingatui next week x The well-known trainer, H. Telford, was taten seriously ill at Trentham on Wednesday, and medical aid had to bo secured for him. At latest advices he was doing-well. The Canterbury Jockey Club's balancesheet for 1914-15 shows that while there was a decrease ill revenue of nearly ,£2OOO the club has survived the extreme conditions occasioned by the war satisfactorily. War was declared, just prior to the Grand National meeting, and practically the whole of the decreased revenue for the year is accounted for at that meeting. The gross expenditure is about' £2500 more than last year, but this amount is absorbed by added to tho stakes, and £1370 subscribed to the war and Belgian funds. FIXTURES.
