Lord Charles Beresford had a narrow escape while visiting the French lines, presumably in Alsace. A Taube dropped bombs near a house where Lord Beresford was staying, and killed a man. The Taube returned the next day and dropped three bombs, partially; wrecking the house, after Lorn ford had gone out. / AN AUSTRALIAN'S OFFER/' Sydney, May. 2r. Mr. Lebbeus Hordern, brother'of Mr. Anthony Hordern, who is an expert aviator,. departs by the outgoing mail steamer to offer'the services of Himself and a Vickers machine which he will purchase on arrival in England to . the Royal Aerial Corps, for either, naval;'or military aerial work. : A MID-AIR, TRAGEDY. Paris, May 26. The engine of an English aeroplane exploded near Hazelbrauck. The machine took fire and fell'.. Both the c-> cupants died. I y.O. HERO KILLED. London, May 26. Private Morrow, of the Irish Fusiliers, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for rescuing, under heavy fire, several men buried in the debris of a wrecked trench, has been killed. He was again assisting wounded men unddr a heavy fire. It will be recommended that a clasp be added to his Victoria Cross.
