* —- THE ANNUAL MEETING. Mr. L. 0. H. Tripp presided at tho annual general meeting of tho Wellingj nSocioty last night, ana there was a large attendance of members. 'I'he annual report (alredy published) and the balance-shecfc were adopted. In moving the adoption of tho report the chairman referred to the war, and stated that a very large number of the society s license-holders either joined their regiments or volunteered for service with tlie Expeditionar yForce. Subsequently the chairman referred more particularly to the report, touching at some length on .Professor Princo's visit to tho Dominion and the value thereof. The report was discussed at considerable length. A vote of thanks was accorded tho honorary rangers for their work during the year. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow President, His Excellency the Governor; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. H. Beetham, It. C. Bruce, . J; Rutherford, L. G. Reid, and E. Riddiford; country delegates, Messrs. R. B. Lloyd (Palmerston NotMi), W. Barton (Wairarapa South), A. D. Crawford (Rangitikei South), Dr. H. A. B. Davies (Levin), Dr. R. Turnbull (Rangitikei North), P. C. Tumor (Eketahuna), and W. Wakemari (Pahiatua); council, Messrs. F. Wliitley, J. F. Dyer, W. H. field, J. Brassell, L. O. H. Tripp, A. F. Lowe, E. J. Wiffem, C. G. Allen, and L. H. B. Wilson; auditor, Mr. G. B. Hull.
