LAWN TENNIS
N.Z. COUNCIL MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Council of tile New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was held last night, in the Wellington Investment Company's rooms. 1 Mr. M. E. Denniston presided over an attendance of about a dozen delegates. The quarterly report of the Management Committee was received, and adopted. The proposed changes in constitution and rules of the Australasian Association were set out fully, and it was stated that the matter was still under' considcraion by the committee, which desired, however, to advise delegates and associations of the present position of affairs. In order that New Zealand may have a full representation of delegates in Sydney, Mr. Ross Goro had been requested to act as a delegate in place of Mr. K. Y. Braddon, who was unable to accept reappointment. The committee was still awaiting word from Australia as to the amount of £300 received as part of the Davis Cup proceeds' distribution of £2100 among affiliated associations. The New Zealand Championships, 1015, will be played in Wellington, provided. satisfactory arrangements as to i grounds, etc., can bo made. The bal- ! ance-sheet showed cash in Savings Bank ] £.369 "Js. lid., and in hand and at the ] Bank of Now Zealand ;GlO 18s. -Id. Mr. D. M. Kean moved the follow- i ing resolution, which was passed with < brief discussion: —"That the matter of i adopting or approving of one or more 1 makes of ball for the New Zealand Championship Meeting in cach year be referred to eaeli affiliated association j in each year for its opinion, and the matter to be decided at a subsequent' meeting of the council." Mr. E. Salmond moved: "That tl ,: ! association instruct its delegate or dele- \ gates on the council of the Lawn Tennis J Association of Australasia to move at i the next meeting of that council that the accumulated Davis Cup Funds be J now distributed on the basis of two- J thirds to the affiliated State Associations and one-third to the New Zea- s land Association, such distribution be- t ing lawful under Rule 19, Clause (b) I of the Australasian Association's eon- s stitution, which provides that these J funds may be used for any object with 3 the unanimous consent of all affiliated associations."The motion was carried. v Mr. A.
