In the Austro-Italian theatre the Italian advance troops are in the enemy's country, and their main concentration is said to hare been effectively disposed for the discomfiture of the Austrian offensive. A large concentration of Gorman troops, with heavy guns, is also reported in this theatre. In tha Western theatre the , British have had to contend with the enemy's poisoning tactics on a large scale, but being equipped with precautionary devices, ' have held their line, and the advancing enemy has beea shelled with disastrous effect. In the Eastern theatre the great Galician battle presents a changed aspect. The Russians are said to have worn down the German offensive, and the enemy is now more or less on the defensive. The Germans on the other hand claim important successes. On the one hand it is said that the enemy is attempting the envelopment of Przemysl, while the Russians say that this great fortress is to be the anvil upon which the Germans will bo beaten by the Russian hammer. In the Dardanelles, the Allies have assumed the offensive, having -now < disposed of various Turkish attacks. The Ottoman elite corps lias been sent to Gallipoli; sigit6 of serious disaffection in the enemy's midst are betrayed in the mutiny of Young Turks against the German officers at Chanak Kalessi, the great Turkish fortress in the Narrows. Tho. personnel of the new British Cabinet has been announced.
