I Tho following is from Monday's Auckland "Herald".—"As a-protest against bis murder by the Germans, and in memory of our lata beloved president, Mr. J. C. Macky, tho Liedertafel has decided that- immediate action be taken with regard to changing the name of the choir." The matter had been under discussion for some months past, but in view of the fact that the Liedertafel was a registered society, certain legal formalities would require to be gone through. Tho matter was discussed at a meeting held a fortnight ago, when the first steps were taken to mako the change. A formal meeting at which tho resolution in favour of the German nomenclature being abandoned " is to be finally adopted, will be held on Friday, June 4, when the new name will be announced.
