At a mooting of the management ;ommitteo of the Wellington Ladies' Hockoy Association last night it was lecided to inform the New Zealand \ssociatiou that the . local association lid not wish the annual ladies' tournancnt to be held in Wellington this rear, but tliat if the New Zealand body ionsidered that tho tourney should bo lold in Wellington it would agree to tho lame. _ • A letter was received' from the Tramivays Department in response to the issociation's request that an extra car je put on on Saturdays. BILLIARDS The last games in the first round of ;he Alcock Billiard-diner Tournament ,vere to have been played last night, jut two competitors failed to put in an ippearance owing to their desiring to ittend their Reserve drills. These atter games will be played this evening, at 5. o'clock. All the winners in ;he first round will go into the "A" md. the losers into the "B" sections, md all are subject to adjustment in handicaps. All games hereafter will 3e on the "sudden death" principle. Last night Tucker (owes 130) played Barker (rec. 75), and won by a com'ortable margin. The winner's best oreaks were 71 and 62, quite a number )f others being in the vicinity of 20. Barker's best efforts were 21 and 17. The second gam© was between Collins 'rcc. 10) and Bennett (rec. 110), and ivas won by tho first-named by 26 Mints. This was a nico, delicate game, Doth players showing up well in fine ihofcs.
