HOSPITAL SHIP RECRUITS
[To the Editor.] Sir,—Being a constant subscriber to your paper, may I ask if men who have passed the St. John Ambulance examination only are sent in tho stationary hospitals and the hospital ship, or are men drafted from the ranks to Ambut lance Division? I would suggest that married moil be given preference to join n stationary hospital and the proposed hospital ship. I would also suggest that the Defence Department (if short of single ambulance qualified men) let tho general public know that St. John Ambulance men are required and perhaps given preference in stationary hospital or ship.—l am, etc., 1 IN THE CAUSE OF THE AMBULANCE. [There is a reference to this matter under the heading "Call to the Ranks" in this issue.] Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., notify their numerous clients and the farming community generally that after Friday, May 28, _ their Levin stock sales will be held fortnightly on Wednesdays, instead of Fridays, tho first sale taking place on Wednesday, June 9. .Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., holtl a stock sale at .Tohnsonville on Wednesday, and at Levin on Friday. The usual weekly stock sales at Levin by Messrs. Dalgety and Co. will bo held on Friday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile \gency Co. invito further entries of stock for itheir sale at Upper Hiitt on Thursday Messrs. W. and G. Tnrnbnll and Co., Masterton, announce tho following stock Hales:—Waipoua yards, on Wednesday, and at Martinborough on Saturday. A stock sale will be held at -Upper Rutt on Thursday neit by Messrs.
