ITALY'S HOUR OF DEMY

DECLARATION OF WAR GREAT OUTBURST OF PUBLIC ' ' ENTHUSIASM FRONTIER SKIRMISH THE WAR IN THE WEST GERMAN RETIREMENT REPORTED

LORD KITCHENER AND THE "DAILY MAIL"

In the Dardanelles a furious attack by tfro Turkish divisions, personally directed by the German general, von Sanders, have been repulsed near Gaba Tepe, with heavy losses. Lord Kitchener, assailed by the "Daily Mail" for his conduct of the war, has been warmly defended by responsible newspapers, and the British public has taken sides with him in a manner which cannot be at all pleasant to Lord Nortbcliffe, who is reported to be tho best-hated man in England just now, . .
