HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.
The American Burlesque and Bevue Company, headed by Mr. Paul Stanhope, will enter on the third week of its season in Wellington to-night, and will produce an entirely new Revue, entitled "Hullo! Lyall Bay," which promises to outrival the others that have been preseutcd. Mr. Paul Stanhopo will appeal in tl'.O guise of an Irishman "with a frozen lung," and with Mr. Lcs Bates will bo responsible for ths bulk of tho liumour. Valuable 'support will be lent -to the leading ■comedians by Miss Fritzeo Do Guy; ''Miss Ruby Kennedy, Mr. Frank Nor'ton; and one of tho most pleasing features will be tho 'Frisco Quartet, who will appear in a number of new harmonised part-songs. All new Bongs .will be introduced by the principals aud a number of incidental dances by 'the ballet will give life and colour to the general scheme. Tho first part of jtlie programme comprises items by 'vaudeville favourites. Miss Effiie Fellows, who is appearing hero for tho first time, comes with an American reputation as a male impersonator. 'Frank Lank and Alico, a troupo of Continental club jugglers, will submit a novel offering.' Artists retained from last week will bo Vando and Verne, topical vocalists; Dormer and Lloyd, specialty dancers; and Ida Jarvis, character comedienne. Tho same proCramme will be repeated nightly, and a, matinee will be given 011 Saturday. ; "THE VIOLETS." (Mr. Edward Branscombe's clever cos■fctune comedy company, "The Violets," "performed before another appreciative audience at the Town Hall Concert Chamber 011 Saturday night. The entertainments provided bv tliis -talented combination have no dull moments and the items.contributed by different members are in the best of taste. "The .V,iolets" will reappear this evennig. THE KING'S THEATRE. The Majestic Film Company liavo by special arrangement been enabled to obtain the services of Lilian Gish to play with her sister Dorothy in a fine twopart drama specially written for these ,two. aud entitled "Tho Sisters." Tho I story goes that two unsophisticated .girls, living in. a small country town, •.both fall victim to tho courting propensities of a city man on a visit to tho ■ .village. Ho persuades one to elope .with him. and marries her. The other is married by a well-to-do man of'the •home town. How the salf-sacrifice of •<the stay-at;honie girl averts-a tragedy in the doiiuestic life of the- ono who went to the city provides "a' realistic ffcory of more.;,than average dramatic interest. "The Waterfalls of Natal" is a beautiful sceiiio study of theso.not generally known cascades. "Tho Departure of the Fourth Reinforcements" uvill enable relations and friends of tho lioys to see them again. (Patho'« provides some authentic war n6ws. \ EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. ■Quite a lot has been cabled out to Us about the doings of the "assassins of' tlw seas," the German submarines, and a-Jt Everybody's to-day at noon will ibe screened a him showing the capture of the s.s. Batavier by a German .pirate. A number of' Americans were on board; including a kiriematograph •photographer, who took a magnificent ■series or views of tho capture. Tho German pirate is seen coming up at the rate of '20 knots per hour. Tho ;steamer :s taken possession of by the 1 'Germans, • and the crew and passengers are lined .lip for inspection. The submarine, •supply ship, and captured vessel then proceed slowly through the minefield to Zeebrugge, where tho vessel is 'interned. 'After months of litigation in Australia, tlic matter of the picture rights for the above production has at last ; 'been settled. These rights have been " Bocured by the London' and New Zealand Film Bureau, a new company in 'the film world, and it is owing to the : enterprise of this concern that the pnblfc of tho Dominion are at last en- . aided to see this immortal drama, in • form, produced by the Famous 'Players Co. This popular cotnedy-idol some time ago severed his connection with the Keystone, and vor.y few of his comedies of that series now remain. The supporting pro- 1 gramme to-day includes another notablo ' comedy in "Her Winning Punch," a ■riotous Keystone feature. The dramatic element is headed by "Lucy's Elopement," a brilliant Tanhouser drama, of a particularly affecting nature. Tho last "Pathe Gazette".will embody some doings in picture form, and other picture subjects will also bo shown. THE EMPRESS THEATRE.
